THE FOUNTAINS OF AMSTERDAM,
sprinklers and water-sculptures

In Amsterdam there are about 70 fountains, high sprinkling fountains, very small ones and water-sculptures, pieces of art which become alive by the moving water. Most of the fountains are not grandiose like in Paris, London or Rome. The fountains in Amsterdam have often a modest appearance to fit in the squares and crossings of the town.
